What we collect
PathBind collects the minimum data necessary to provide the service:
- Device identity: an anonymous cookie-based identifier (persists 1 year) used to associate sessions with a device.
- Account data: if you create an account, we store your email, display name, and a hashed password.
- Session data: decisions made during learning scenarios, including choice selections, timing, and reflection responses.
- Created content: experiences, scenarios, and configurations you create in the Studio.
How we use it
- To provide adaptive learning experiences (the engine reads session data in real time).
- To generate analytics for creators (anonymized by default; names are shown only after learner opt-in).
- To improve the auto-improve engine that suggests content changes.
Anonymization
Learner identities are anonymized using one-way hashing before being shown to creators. Creators see hashed identifiers, not raw user IDs or emails. If a learner explicitly chooses to share a display name for a session, that name may appear in creator analytics until the learner revokes it in Settings. Creators are responsible for any required parental or institutional consent when cohorts include minors.
Export & deletion
You can export all your data from Settings. You can permanently delete your account, sessions, and created content from Settings. Deletion is irreversible.
Third parties
- OpenAI: used for AI content generation. No learner session data is sent to OpenAI.
- Stripe: used for payment processing on paid plans.
- Firebase: used for authentication.
